Disclaimer
Last updated: 2026-05-06
This Disclaimer applies to all content on internationalautomobileauthority.com and to the IAA Driver’s License Translation (IAA-DLT) offered by International Automobile Authority (“IAA”), operated by International Automobile Authority LLC. Please read it carefully; it is incorporated by reference into our Terms of Service and is binding on every visitor and customer.
1. About our brand name
“Authority” in our name refers to our team’s expertise and authority in driver’s license translation services — not to any governmental or regulatory power. International Automobile Authority LLC is a private Florida-registered limited liability company producing a linguistic translation of your domestic driver’s license. We are not a government authority, regulatory body, or official issuer of any kind.
2. The IAA-DLT is not an International Driving Permit (IDP)
- The IAA-DLT is not an International Driving Permit (IDP) issued by a government or motoring association.
- In the United States, the only organizations designated to issue IDPs under the 1949 Geneva Convention are the American Automobile Association (AAA) and the American Automobile Touring Alliance (AATA). We are neither of them, and we have no affiliation with either.
- Equivalent government-designated issuers exist in other countries (for example, CAA in Canada). We are not affiliated with any of them.
- Any similarity in name between International Automobile Authority and AAA, CAA, ATA, or any other organization is coincidental.
3. The IAA-DLT is not issued by any government
- The IAA-DLT is not a government-issued document.
- The IAA-DLT is not authorized, endorsed, or co-issued by the United Nations, UNECE, any national road-safety authority, or any motoring association.
4. The IAA-DLT does not replace your domestic driver’s license
- You must always carry and present your valid domestic driver’s license together with the IAA-DLT.
- The IAA-DLT is valid only when shown alongside your original driver’s license; it is not a standalone driving credential.
5. Acceptance is at third-party discretion
- Acceptance of the IAA-DLT by foreign authorities, vehicle rental companies, or law-enforcement officers is at their sole discretion.
- We do not guarantee acceptance of the IAA-DLT in any specific country, region, or transaction.
- We are not liable for any fine, penalty, denial of service, denial of rental, or any other consequence imposed by any third party following the presentation of an IAA-DLT. This limitation is subject to § 8 below and to any non-waivable consumer-protection law.
6. Country-acceptance scope
The IAA-DLT is formatted in accordance with the 1949 Geneva Convention on Road Traffic and the 1968 Vienna Convention on Road Traffic. Where our website references the Conventions’ contracting-states list, acceptance remains at the discretion of the accepting authority. For country-specific notes — including the known rental-company rejection issues in Japan, China, and South Korea — please see our Country Acceptance Disclaimer.
7. Pre-checkout acknowledgement
At checkout, you are required to tick an acknowledgement confirming you have read this Disclaimer and understand that the IAA-DLT is a certified translation of your valid driver’s license, is not an International Driving Permit, and is not issued by any government or motoring association. This acknowledgement is binding.
8. No warranty; limitation preserved
- Except for the express guarantees set out in our Refund and Cancellation Policy (the Rejection Guarantee and the Replacement Guarantee) and any non-excludable consumer guarantees, the IAA-DLT and website are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
- To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
- Nothing in this Disclaimer limits any right you may have under applicable mandatory consumer law, including the EU Digital Content Directive 2019/770, the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015, the Australian Consumer Law (including section 64), Brazil’s Código de Defesa do Consumidor, or provincial consumer-protection laws in Canada.
9. Third-party content
Our website may link to third-party sites or reference third-party resources. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content. Inclusion of a link or reference does not imply endorsement.
10. Translation and localization
Our website may be translated or auto-translated into other languages. In case of discrepancy between the English version and a translated version, the English version governs.
11. Changes to this Disclaimer
